Inside the Church
Upon entering the church, you’ll be greeted with an incredible sight: the Bible in the foreground, benches on the sides, beautiful arches, and the altar. The Temple Church is truly beautiful. Let’s continue exploring 👍

The Arches
Most of the arches in the Temple Church are painted, which really highlights the sacred atmosphere 👍

Candles
As with all churches, there are candles here. You can light one by placing a small coin. Even from Valencia, you can remember your loved ones in this way 👍

Paintings
On the sides of the church, you can admire numerous paintings. They are all magnificent, some featuring statues, and others adorned with gold 👍🎨

The Altar
The altar is splendid, with an equally incredible backdrop. The Virgin Mary and Jesus are at the center of this masterpiece. At the top of the dome, there’s a star, indicating the star that announced the birth of Jesus. Three chairs and a table for the mass are present. The roof is intricately painted, and a large tapestry covers the back wall. Witnessing this sight will leave you in awe. Feel free to take photos without using flash 😉📸

Prayer Room
Behind the altar, you’ll find a prayer room. To access it, follow the corridor on the left (when facing the altar). Inside, there’s a small room with a statue. You’ve arrived.

History
Before becoming a church, this site was home to a Templar castle. It was destroyed by an earthquake. Charles III decided to replace it with a church. The Temple Church was constructed between 1761 and 1770. Over the years, the building has witnessed various attacks and wars.
Initially, it served as an arsenal for weapons and gunpowder. Later, it housed priests who stayed here for several years. Since February 2012, the Temple Church has been under the direction of the “Congregación diocesana Cooperatores Veritatis de la Madre de Dios.”
